2019 Purple Porch Member Loan Campaign
We’ve launched a campaign to raise $250,000 to enhance our store and ensure its sustainability.
Much of what we’re looking to raise money for isn’t flashy, but it’s all necessary to ensure the longevity and sustainability of Purple Porch, your cooperative. With your investment, we will purchase much needed equipment, enhance the look of our store, inside and out, and have enough cash on hand to make sure we’re prepared to weather the storms we know will arise.
You’re co-op is growing and needs your help.
Downtown South Bend is growing and so are we. Purple Porch Co-op has launched a member-owner loan campaign to grow our store, market, and cafe.
To achieve our goal we’ll need financial support from our 1,100 member-owners. This is your opportunity to invest financially in a co-op that lives your values.
Replace aged, inefficient refrigeration and freezer units. We purchased many of our units used when we opened five years ago, and some are more than 20 years old.
Invest in a much-needed ventilation system for our kitchen.
Upgrade our unique and low-waste bulk department.
Purchase a larger, better equipped produce display case for fresher, longer-lasting fruits and vegetables.
Increase visibility from Hill St. and Colfax Ave. with improved lighting and signage.
Invest in right-sized production tools in the kitchen to increase batch sizes.
Have sufficient cash on hand to ensure we’re prepared when unexpected expenses arise.
Beautify Purple Porch, creating a more inviting place to shop, eat, and share community.
Raise a total of $250,000 to cover these expenses and ensure the stability of Purple Porch.
