We need your help to fill some PPC Board of Directors vacancies.
Have you considered helping out the Co-op in a meaningful way. As Member-owners, we are asked to support the Co-op by purchasing food and help spreading the news about PPC. Board Directors certainly give more - through their commitment, time (not too much), experiences, creativity and collaboration - they create Co-op policies and supervise the General Manager's performance on these policies.
in general, Directors are elected at our Annual Meeting. However, since the annual meeting is next Spring, the Board would like to appoint two people to these positions. Read the eligibility requirements here.

An important relevant example of the work our Board of Directors does
As the compliment to the Board establishing the new Means Policies, at the most recent Board meeting, they finalized and approved the Ends Policy. Ends and Means - exactly how it sounds. The Ends Policy is meant to be aspirational for all and guidance for the General Manager to operate the Co-op. It effectively replaces our Mission Statement. What do you think?
Purple Porch Co-op will have a financially sustainable member-owned cooperative food business that focuses on selling locally grown or produced goods and provides fair compensation for its workers. We will maintain relationships with local farmers and producers who adhere to sustainable and transparent practices. We will have a reputation in the community as the premier provider of locally-sourced food and as leaders in food education, food justice, and environmental stewardship.
As the Summer winds down, we're in the process of saying goodbye to some of our staff as they head off to college. If you haven't already done so, please send well wishes to these young people:
